SGI certifications background:SGI, or Silicon Graphics, Inc offers a wide range of hardware and software, including their own version UNIX, called IRIX. They manufacture a wide range of computers, from personal workstations to Cray supercomputers, chiefly for businesses and the government. You should pursue these SGI certifications if you work with SGI products or wish to get a job at a company that does. I'd certainly recommend you consider this if you are already working with their systems on your current job. Certification would validate your skills to your employer and if you don't get a raise, help you find a new employer more appreciative of your value. If you already know their systems well, you can take the tests by paying Sylvan Prometric $100 each. If you need to take classes, SGI offers them.
