It is still an active company although not the leader it started out as, and Lotus certifications prepare you to work with their software. Lotus certifications background:Lotus is one of the early kings of PC software. It was started in 1982 to bring out one of the early killer aps of home software, the Lotus 1-2-3 spreadsheet. It is no longer the spreadsheet king and its word processor, Ami Pro, has lost the competition to Microsoft Word. However Lotus is still powerful. Its two top products are Lotus Notes, which allows business employees to collaborate in real time on products, and Lotus Domino for developing web sites. Lotus also makes an email program called cc:Mail which I used to use at work and like. Lotus currently has three levels of software Lotus certifications. the first level certifies your basic expertise of one software program. The second and third levels advance beyond that, into application development. Certified Lotus Specialist (CLS)This is the first level of software Lotus certifications. You must pass one exam to demonstrate basic technical expertise in that program. You can obtain Certified Lotus Specialist status in four Lotus certifications software programs:

Also, "coding and modifying applications, integrating code with the graphical user interface, and managing troubleshooting applications." Building a Notes database. "Setting up, operating, and maintaining Notes/Domino servers and client workstations." Also, "infrastructure planning and design, server installation and setup, maintenance and operations, systems security, and troubleshooting." Lotus Domain structure and messaging. Also, existing network infrastructure/communications/remote LAN access system and "Infrastructure Planning and Design, Install/Setup, Maintenance and Operations, Troubleshooting, and System Security." "Small-site deployment, installation, and configuration of cc:Mail across multiple networks and platforms."
