Video cards are also called adapters. They are an integrated circuit card in a computer that provides digital to analog conversion, video RAM and a video controller so that your monitor will display images on the screen. Now video cards usually have a female 15-pin connector, with three rows of pins. Most video cards adhere to standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA). They describe how data is passed between the computer and the display. That is streams of red, green and blue color. Video RAM is used by video cards to store image data for a display. These video cards define the refresh rate in hertz - the greater the refresh rate, the easier it is on your eyes to view a computer screen.
