Borland JBuilder is a visual Integrated Development Environment / IDE put out by that company to create and compile Java applications. Version 1.0 was released in 1997. It was created by Blake Stone.

Borland JBuilder was created to "push the limits of Java" -- and now it itself is completely written in that language. It is extensible and customizable. There are a lot of freeware and shareware tools to make it even more powerful.

A two-way tool, with Borland JBuilder you can create new applications by either writing code or point and clicking on the visual GUIs.

Borland JBuilder supports:

J2EE
CORBA
SOAP
XML struts
Enterprise JavaBeans
JavaServerPages Servlets
JDBL and Data Express

It also integrates with Microsoft, BEA WebLogic, Apache server and other major tools and systems.

Borland JBuilder groups files by project. It tracks resources in files without changing them. It also tracks dependencies between files in special binary files.
