SAP certifications test and validate your knowledge, skills and expertise at using ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) software from SAP AG, one of the top companies supplying these solutions. The AG is German for Inc, since they are a German company. SAP certifications can advance your computer careers if you work for a company using SAP products.

Whether or not any certification is "worth it" is an individual decision. You alone must decide what your career goals and needs are.

Look at certifications from a cost/benefit or Return On Investment (ROI) basis. If they help you get a better paying job or make more money at your current job, they are obviously "worth it."

The problem is, there is no real way of measuring how much you can expect your income to go up as a result of any given certification. It also depends on non-related job search skills such as how well you network.

The first SAP certifications is the mySAP AcceleratedSAP Consultant. You must pass the exam covering:

Install ValueSAP and available installation options
All functions for setting up users and managing projects with ASAP Admin Tools
All functions and options for adapting to project-specific requirements
Phases of the Implementation Roadmap and accelerators
Q&Adb
Project IMG and Customizing

The next SAP certifications is the Certified Application Consultant

You must pass the test in the desired module. Exams are multiple choice.

Materials Management (MM)
Production Planning (PP)
Sales and Distribution (SD)
Human Resources (HR)
AcceleratedSAP (ASAP)

The next SAP certifications is the Certified Technical Consultant

You must pass the technical consultant exam for the module you wish to be certified in. Choose from:

Basis Administration
ABAP Workbench
Workflow

The last SAP certifications is the mySAP E-Business Certification. This is on an advanced level and you must have extensive experience to pass it. You must pass one exam in each area. Exams last 1-2 hours and consist of multiple choice questions. The areas are:
