Whether or not any certification is "worth it" is an individual decision. You alone must decide what your career goals and needs are.

Look at certifications from a cost/benefit or Return On Investment (ROI) basis. If they help you get a better paying job or make more money at your current job, they are obviously "worth it."

The problem is, there is no real way of measuring how much you can expect your income to go up as a result of any given certification. It also depends on non-related job search skills such as how well you network.

The PMI certification Program maintains ISO 9001 certification in Quality Management Systems.

The first PMI certifications if the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM™)

This intended for those relatively new to the project management profession. You must first meet specific education and experience requirements and then pass an examination.

The second is the Project Management Professional (PMP) credential, a top professional certification.

The PMP exam includes the following domains:

Initiating
Planning
Executing
Controlling
Closing
Professional responsibility

Although this is the peak, you can obtain additional specialized Certificates of Added Qualification (CAQ™) that apply only to specific industries

They are:

Information Technology Networking
Information Technology Systems
Project Management Office
