ITrain certification is the Professional Technical Trainer and is administered by ITrain, the International Association of Information Technology Trainers. The ITrain certification can advance your computer careers if you work or plan to work as a high tech instructor.

Whether or not any certification is "worth it" is an individual decision. You alone must decide what your career goals and needs are.

Look at certifications from a cost/benefit or Return On Investment (ROI) basis. If they help you get a better paying job or make more money at your current job, they are obviously "worth it."

The problem is, there is no real way of measuring how much you can expect your income to go up as a result of any given certification. It also depends on non-related job search skills such as how well you network.

ITrain certification background:

You must be a member in good standing of the International Association of Information Technology Trainers in good standing.

To get the ITrain certification you must attend and pass the ITrain Advanced Train the Trainer seminar

You must also submit a 30-minute video tape of a training program presentation, provide ten student references, provide post-class evaluations from ten classes and submit a nonrefundable application fee.

As a member you will also get all the advantages of membership in the association as well as the advantages of validating your instructor expertise with the ITrain certification.
