Software Quality Engineer Certification (CSQE) is given by the American Society for Quality (ASQ)

This is an organization devoted to furthering quality standards in many facets of technical professions. The Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) certification test is given 2 times a year.

CSQE certification worth it?

Standard disclaimer:

Whether or not any certification is "worth it" is an individual decision. You alone must decide what your career goals and needs are.

Look at certifications from a cost/benefit or Return On Investment (ROI) basis. If they help you get a better paying job or make more money at your current job, they are obviously "worth it."

The problem is, there is no real way of measuring how much you can expect your income to go up as a result of any given certification. It also depends on non-related job search skills such as how well you network.

CSQE certifications background:

Software Quality Engineer Certification (CSQE) Requirements:

Education and/or Experience
You must have eight years of on-the-job experience in one or more of the areas of the Software Quality Engineer Certification (CSQE) Body of Knowledge
At least 3 years of this experience must be in a decision-making position
If you have completed a degree* from a college, university, or technical school with accreditation accepted by ASQ, part of the eight-year experience requirement will be waived
Proof of Software Quality Engineer Certification (CSQE) Professionalism
Membership in ASQ, an international affiliate society of ASQ, or another society that is a member of the American Association of Engineering Societies or the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology
Registration as a Professional Engineer
The signatures of two persons–ASQ members, of an international affiliate society, or members of another recognized professional society–verifying that you are a qualified practitioner of the quality sciences
Examination
Pass a written examination of multiple choice questions that measure comprehension of the Body of Knowledge. The Software Quality Engineer Certification (CSQE) examination is a one-part, 160-question, four-hour exam and is offered in the English language only.

Software Quality Engineer Certification (CSQE) examinations are conducted twice a year, in June and December.

All examinations are open-book.
