Aprisma certifications worth it?

Standard disclaimer:

Whether or not any certification is "worth it" is an individual decision. You alone must decide what your career goals and needs are.

Look at certifications from a cost/benefit or Return On Investment (ROI) basis. If they help you get a better paying job or make more money at your current job, they are obviously "worth it."

The problem is, there is no real way of measuring how much you can expect your income to go up as a result of any given certification. It also depends on non-related job search skills such as how well you network.

Aprisma certifications background:

The first Aprisma certifications is the Spectrum Engineer (SE). This is for people who wish to demonstrate expertise with Aprisma's Spectrum Network Management product. You can get this in any one or more of three specialties:

  1. SPECTRUM Administration (Exam #009)
  2. SPECTRUM Advanced Administration (Exam #010)
  3. SPECTRUM Customization (Exam #005)

There are classes for each specialty that are recommended but not required. You must pass an exam.

The next Aprisma certifications is Spectrum Solutions Engineer (SSE)

This is for people who wish to demonstrate advanced expertise with Aprisma's Spectrum Network Management product. You must first pass all three SE exams.

The next Aprisma certifications is Aprisma Certified Engineer (ACE), for people who wish to demonstrate advanced expertise with Aprisma's Spectrum Network Management product. You must already hold the SSE designation. You must complete the Integration and Implementation course. No exam is required.

The next Aprisma certifications is Spectrum Solutions Integrator (SSI)

This is for people who wish to prove expertise in adding functionality to the spectroSERVER and spectroGRAPH applications. This will normally interest network administrators and software engineers.

You must first pass the SE Spectrum Core Administration certification. Then you must pass the SSI certification exam given at the end of the Spectrum Integration training course.

These are the basics of Aprisma certifications.
