Book Review of This Good Book for Beginning Web Site Designers and Publishers

Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML & XHTML in 21 Days by Laura Lemay is an excellent book to learn the basics of putting up a web site. I've been on the Internet since 1995 but my eyes used to glaze over at all discussions of HTML. I hated it. Then I realized I needed to learn it, and an earlier edition of Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML & XHTML in 21 Days by Laura Lemay got me over my psychological complex.

Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML & XHTML in 21 Days by Laura Lemay is a book to help you teach yourself how to use HTML (now really XHTML but that's not really much different), to put up web sites. It's for everyone such as myself four years ago who wanted to put up websites. It's a technical guide.

I stress this because Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML & XHTML in 21 Days by Laura Lemay is NOT a comprehensive HTML reference book. Once you learn the two parts of an HTML file, how to create them, how to use the basic tags you'll need, set up tables etc -- you won't need it any longer.

Also, Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML & XHTML in 21 Days by Laura Lemay is NOT a guide to becoming the most acclaimed web designer. She does teach basic design principles but not how to create artistically superior web pages. There are other books for that too.

If you just want to publish web pages for personal pleasure or to supplement your business or to create an online business, Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML & XHTML in 21 Days by Laura Lemay is a great way to begin.

All I can say is, when I used a browser to view the first HTML "Hello World" document that I created, I had immediate revelation. This web publishing stuff was NOT as hard or mysterious as I'd always thought, back when I turned away from all online discussions on HTML.

I regret that I didn't learn it years ago, say 1995. Sams Teach Yourself Web Publishing with HTML & XHTML in 21 Days by Laura Lemay is a great book for everyone who wants to publish web pages or who is struggling to learn the basics of how to.
